Love Island's Indiyah Polack has defended Nella Rose amid the campmate's clash with Fred Sirieix on ITV I'm A Celebrity, admitting she predicted they would row.

On Tuesday's episode the duo argued as Fred, 51, left Nella, 26, feeling "disrespected" and "offended" with comments he made to her amid some heartbreaking losses in her family.

Nella has previously spoken about her father passing away in 2020, while she also sadly lost her mother when she was aged 19.

In a disagreement with Fred, Nella claimed the First Dates star was aware of her family tragedy so a comment he made to her in camp left her upset. Explaining what had happened, Nella told the Bush Telegraph: "Last night after dinner Fred made a comment about him basically how he could be my dad.

"I took offence to that because one of the first conversations we had together was me opening up about the fact that my dad’s passed away. I didn’t say anything about it last night because I was kind of just annoyed about it. So I slept on it and I kind of thought about it and I was just like, this is not the kind of person I want to be around." As Fred kept calling to Nella that morning, she ignored him before telling him why she was upset.

Fred was stunned as he apologised, admitting he was unaware that she was offended and he had unwillingly made a faux pas. However, despite accepting his sincere apology, Nella issued an ultimatum, saying: "You only get one chance to disrespect me. I accept your apology but let’s not be friends. How about that?"

Talking about the scenes on Wednesday's Lorraine, former Love Island star Indiyah, 24, who is friends with Nella and has worked with her before on social media, shared her thoughts. Indiyah admitted that she predicted Nella and Fred would row prior to Tuesday's episode and although Fred had no "malicious intent", it is easy for things to be blown out of proportion in the jungle.

Indiyah said of predicting a clash between the two campmates: "I just feel like from first impressions, Fred has such a big personality that can maybe come across sometimes a little bossy and Nella has such a big personality herself so I could just see the two of them clashing over something. I didn't expect it to be this!

"From what I know of Nella, she's a very bright, bubbly person and she wears her heart on her sleeve, she speaks her mind. I don't think Fred had any malicious intent, but again, none of us are Nella. We're not in a sweaty jungle, we're not being bitten by ants and eating rice and beans. I feel like in that environment, it's very easy for things to be blown out or taken the wrong way."

Indiyah added: "I do hope they can get over it, I feel like it was probably just you know, they'll talk about it, maybe have a couple days rest, and they'll be back." The star continued: "I think the whole situation can be taken with a pinch of salt but even with that, all of us knowing that Nella's dad has passed away, maybe it was something Fred could have thought about, maybe this could be taken out of proportion? You just never know!"
