ECCLESIASTICAL is fancied to follow up a course-and-distance score 17 days ago by beating 11 rivals for the Build Your Acca With BetUK Handicap (7.30) at Wolverhampton on Thursday evening.

Tristan Davison’s six-year-old has had a busy and profitable 2023, scoring four times from his 17 starts.

Ecclesiastical was back to winning form over Dunstall Park’s six furlongs last time, travelling with menace before being unleashed by Jason Hart to beat Cooperation by two and a quarter lengths.

Under the circumstances, a 6lb rise in the weights could have been worse, and the thriving Ecclesiastical gets the vote to go in again.

At Wincanton, TAMARIS is the selection to rack up a hat-trick in the Evelyn Partners Handicap Chase (3.15).

Joe Tizzard’s team are rattling along nicely and Tamaris made it third time lucky over fences - showing the benefit of wind surgery since his previous run - with a nine-and-a-half-length margin at Plumpton in September.

Reappearing at Fontwell Park 13 days later, Tamaris doubled his tally over obstacles with a four-length beating of Auditoria.

There’s a further 5lb rise to deal with here, but Tamaris is a long way from the bottom of the barrel and the threesome beckons.
