David Clifford was in sensational form on Sunday as he kicked 12 points in Fossa's Intermediate Championship final loss to Milltown-Caslemaine.

Fresh from being crowned the PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Year for the second year on the spin, Clifford was at his mercurial best as he single-handedly took the fight to Milltown-Castlemaine.

Some of his scores were simply incredible. Whether off the left or even his weaker right foot, Clifford was dialled in from the start and kicked a series of tremendous points.

There was to be no fairytale effort for the Kerry star however, as he proved he is human after all by missing a tricky free from a tight angle in the fourth minute of injury time.

In fairness to Clifford, there was little more he could do on the day as he scored 12 of his team's 18 points at Austin Stack Park.

While the game wasn't shown on TV, the good folks at Clubber kindly released highlights of the gripping contest on social media and can be enjoyed on X below.

The defeat ends Fossa's dreams of achieving back-to-back promotions to Senior Football having been a Junior outfit just a year ago.
