A woman presented herself to hospital after she was shot in the Tallaght area of South Dublin last night.

The woman is understood to have received gunshot injuries in the front garden of a house in the Jobstown area of Tallaght at around 10:10pm. A car was subsequently found burnt out nearby.

Sources say the incident is believed to be connected to an ongoing feud in the area between two rival gangs.

The feud has already seen several other incidents of violence in recent months. Sources said gardai believe the woman may have been shot in the leg and the hip with a pellet gun. It's understood she has since discharged herself from hospital.

In a statement gardai said: “At approximately 10:10pm, Gardaí received reports of the discharge of a firearm at a residential premises in the Jobstown area.

"A woman aged, in her 30s, presented to Tallaght Hospital with a suspected gunshot injury. Her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

“Later in the evening Gardaí and emergency services attended incidents of criminal damage by fire of a car and of a house at separate locations in the Jobstown area.

No other injuries have been reported. Scenes have been put in place by Gardaí and technical examinations are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Jobstown area, between 9.30pm and 3:00am, who may have witnessed these incidents to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing to those with camera footage or to any motorist with dash cam footage to make it available to them.
